Data we handle for our clients
When we manage a client's Amazon or TikTok Shop account, we may see their customers' details, such as names, delivery addresses and order information. For this data, our client is the data controller and we are a data processor acting on their instructions.
- We use it only to deliver the services our client has hired us for, such as resolving order issues and managing listings and performance.
- We never use it to contact customers for our own purposes, and we never sell it.
- We keep it inside the Amazon and TikTok Shop platforms wherever possible. Anything taken out is deleted within 90 days.
If you bought from one of our clients and have a question about your data, please contact the seller directly. If you contact us, we'll pass your request to them.
Data we collect about clients, prospects and contacts
- Clients: names, business contact details and account information needed to deliver our services and invoice for them. Lawful basis: contract.
- Prospective clients: business contact details (such as name, role, company, business address and professional profile) taken from public sources like company websites, Companies House and LinkedIn, used to contact businesses about our services. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. You can ask us to stop at any time and we will.
- People who contact us: whatever you send us by email, phone or our website, used to reply. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
Who we share data with
We don't sell personal data. We share it only with the client it belongs to, with software providers that help us run our business (for example email, cloud storage and advertising tools) under appropriate safeguards, or where the law requires it.
How we protect data
We use access controls based on least privilege, multi-factor authentication, encrypted connections, encrypted devices and up-to-date security software. Only people who need personal data for their work can access it.
How long we keep data
- Client customer data taken out of the platforms: deleted within 90 days.
- All of a client's data: deleted within 30 days of our relationship ending, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Prospect contact details: deleted when you ask us to stop contacting you, or after 2 years without contact.
- Invoices and financial records: kept for 6 years, as UK law requires.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email joe@summergusts.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.
